Row Counter – never lose your place in a pattern again

·2 min read

Every crocheter knows that moment: you look at your work and wonder, which row am I actually on? And was that the row with 16 stitches, or was it already the one with 12?

What the counter can do

The row counter works in two modes depending on how you crochet.

Simple mode

Tap + after each completed row. The counter remembers where you are and - if you set a target row count - shows a progress bar

💡

The Spacebar works just like the + button - handy when your hands are busy holding your work.

Stitch pattern mode

If each row has a different stitch count, you can enter the pattern - numbers separated by commas or one per line:

8, 16, 16, 12

From that point the counter tracks stitches within the current row. When it hits the limit it moves to the next row automatically. You don't have to think about it.

If your pattern repeats (say, four rows cycling over and over), just enter one cycle - the counter applies it to every subsequent repeat.

ℹ️

Pattern mode activates automatically once you enter both a target row count and a stitch list.

Multiple projects at once

A shawl, a hat and mittens all at the same time? No problem. Each project has its own name and its own counter - you can switch between them without losing progress. Everything is saved in the browser and waiting for you next time you visit.

How to get started

  1. Go to Tools → Row Counter
  2. Create your first project and give it a name
  3. Optionally: enter a target row count
  4. Optionally: enter stitch counts for each row to enable automatic row advances
  5. Tap + or press Spacebar while you crochet
